Four arrested Adhoc teachers released; Cabinet decides to grant scale pay

The four teachers of the All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers’ Group (ANATG), who were arrested from Kohima’s Solidarity park for holding a meeting, have been released by the police.

The outcome of the cabinet meeting that was held today has come out with some positive results as it decided to grant scale pay to the ANATG.

The cabinet further decided that once the court case, which was filed by the ANATG to utilise the available possible means to regularise the services of the adhoc teachers, it will look into the matter of regularisation of their services.

Earlier in the day, the All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers’ Group members were prevented from conducting a general meeting at the Capital Convention Centre in Kohima.

After being denied permission by the district administration the ANATG members took permission from NSF to continue with their meeting at Solidarity Park but the police cordoned the park’s entrance and arrested 4 members.
