FIR against 9 cops for thrashing man in Assam’s Dima Hasao

As per reports, the nine police personnel beat up one person identified as Paisringdao Jorasa while being in an inebriated state.

A case of alleged high-handedness by police has come to the fore in the Dima Hasao district. An FIR has been filed against nine police personnel for allegedly thrashing a person in Umrangso town.

As per reports, the nine police personnel beat up one person identified as Paisringdao Jorasa while being in an inebriated state.

Reportedly, the incident took place on Sunday afternoon and the FIR was filed on Tuesday.

The nine police personnel are reportedly attached to the Dalmia cement factory in Umrangso and had beat up the person after an argument took place between the person and a worker near the factory gate.

The FIR against the nine police personnel has been filed under Sections 341, 325, and 34 of the IPC.

Meanwhile, Dima Hasao SP Mayank Kumar has said that strict action would be taken if the matter is found to be true.

Reportedly, the APDCL official, working as a junior manager was beaten up by a group of drunken Assam Police personnel when the victim was going for a walk near his campus after work. According to the APDCL official, one of the police personnel was pelting stones at a street dog that happened to be near the victim

Following this, the APDCL official asked the policeman not to throw stones at the dogs as the policeman could hit him in the process. The policeman then turned on the APDCL official and along with the other policeman assaulted the victim.
