The ferry service between Majuli and Jorhat on the Brahmaputra river in Assam has been temporarily suspended as the Brahmaputra river’s water level surged beyond danger levels.
The move has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of travelers and the vessels.
Currently, the Brahmaputra is flowing over the danger level at Kamalabari in Majuli.
The ferry boats that ply between the ghats of Kamalabari and Nimatighat have been ordered to suspend operations for the time being till further orders.
