The 7th edition of the two-day Falcon festival began yesterday in Dima Hasao district of Assam.
The festival is celebrated every year to raise awareness on the preservation of the Amur Falcon which stopover in the Northeast on its annual migratory journey.
The festival which attracts tourists from the state and outside saw Bollywood singing sensation Jubin Nautiyal on its list of star performers last night.
After performing at the Falcon festival, the singer took to Twitter and wrote, “It was beautiful to meet you my dear #Assam. I saw something special in you at the #falconfestival – #umrangso last night. You have my heart.”
The two-day festival that includes cultural events, exhibitions, discussions, seminars on conservation, musical nights and other activities is being organised at the Golf Course in Umrangso, Dima Hasao.
The festival aims to create awareness among the masses about the migratory Amur Falcon, which is a kind of migratory birds that comes to the district once a year during the winter season.
