Facebook said on Wednesday that an issue with uploading or sending media files on its platforms has now been resolved.
Earlier in the day, netizens complained about outage of services on Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram, while experiencing trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on its apps and platforms.
According to service outage tracking website Down Detector, users in west Europe, the US, South America, Indonesia were most impacted. Services were affected in India as well.
When contacted, a Facebook spokesperson said, “We’re aware that some people and businesses are currently having trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible. ”It blamed the outage on an error that was triggered during a “routine maintenance operation.”
At 5:19AM on Thursday, Facebook posted a message to its official Twitter account saying the “issue has since been resolved and we should be back at 100 percent for everyone. We’re sorry for any inconvenience.” Instagram similarly said its issues were more or less resolved, too.
