External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar who is on a 3-day visit to the state of Manipur interacted with the teachers and students of different Universities in the State including Manipur University.
The Union Minister during the interaction programme at City Convention Centre called upon everyone to develop a competitive mindset and think of the world as continuously engaging in competition with each other.
“At one level we are competing against those 200 nations. And as a competitive nation, we want to do well. In a way, it is a team sport, and every citizen, every person in this country should thrive to remain competitive with the rest of the world”, the external minister said.
Meanwhile, emphasising the efforts of India during COvid-19 pandemic, and also its efforts to bring digital revolution, Minister Jaishankar also highlighted India’s mission to rescue its citizens from various nations during the crisis. Jaishankar also highlighted India’s humanitarian efforts.
Minister Jaishankar also stressed the need to welcome opportunities arising from Act East Policy by building better roads and connectivity.
Answering a query raised by a Myanmar student, about India’s stand regarding the prevailing situation in Myanmar, Minister Jaishankar said in case of any emergency, the Ministry of External Affairs will provide all the assistance through the university they are currently studying.
The review meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura.
