Engine separate from train in Assam. Major accident averted in Kokrajhar

At a time when all eyes are on the major train accident in Odisha, a major tragedy was averted in Assam today

The engine of a passenger train got separated and moved on for almost six kilometers before it finally stopped. The incident took place at Fakiragram in Kokrajhar district. The passenger train was moving to New Jalpaiguri Station. While the engine moved ahead after being separated from the coaches, the rest of the train remained stranded on the railway track for almost an hour.
