45-year-old Assam biker trampled to death by elephant herd

A 45-year-old man was trampled to death by a herd of elephants in Assam’s Hojai on Wednesday night, April 26.

The deceased man has been identified as Sareth Samse. He was employed at the Karbi Langpi Hydro Electric Project in West Karbi Anlong.

According to reports, he was riding his bike toward Baithalangso in West Karbi Anglong area when he came face to face with a herd of elephants in Hojai. On noticing the herd of elephants, Sareth got nervous and stopped his bike. Then, before he could run away, a tusker charged and trampled him to death.

Despite suffering severe injuries in the elephant attack, Sareth was still breathing. Later, locals spotted him and rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared him brought dead.
