Nation celebrates Eid-Al-Adha, the much awaited festival of the season today.

Eid-Al-Adha, also popularly known as Bakrid will be celebrated today across the nation with much fervor. This festival marks the end of Hajj for the Muslims.

The day is marked with the sacrifice of an animal and the distribution of the meat among family members, neighbours and the poor.

During the festival, people  invite friends and relatives to grand feasts which comprise of savory cuisines on this auspicious occasion.

People gathered at various Idgahs and mosques across the nation to offer their prayers.

Meanwhile, Northeast too is celebrating Eid with much zeal and enthusiasm. People from all walks of life and age groups gathered at the mosques and Idgahs dressed in their festive best to mark the auspicious occasion.

Muslims in Assam also celebrated Eid-al-Adha or Bakrid with much fervour. People were seen flocking to mosques and Idgahs to offer prayers in the morning.

In Guwahati, people gathered at various mosques and Idgahs to offer Namaaz and prepare for the sacrifices for the day.
