Stating that the tendering process was transparent, DCM Sniawbhalang said that tenders cannot be manipulated.
Meghalaya’s Deputy Chief Minister, Sniawbhalang Dhar, refuted claims of favouritism regarding the state government’s decision to rent out the ground floor of Meghalaya House in Kolkata. He clarified that the government had invited tenders from various parties to lease the space and that the selection process was completely transparent and impartial.
Dhar’s response came after accusations were levelled against the government that the floor was rented out to the DCM’s brother Rocky Dhar through unfair means, flouting bidding norms.
“The highest bidder was given the tender simple as that. So many companies bid for the commercial complex, and it’s not just because Rocky is my brother that the tender was given to him. Everyone has the right to bid for the same,” said Sniawbhalang Dhar stating that the tendering process was transparent, and tenders cannot be manipulated.
He also said that political parties cannot be blamed for the allegation as they were not aware of the process till the Chief Minister clarified on leasing out the facility.
