Drugs worth Rs 15 Cr seized in Assam’s Karimganj, 2 held

Assam Police arrested two drug smugglers and seized huge contraband drugs worth Rs 15 crore in the international market today in Karimganj district.
A team of Karimganj police based on specific input launched an operation near Vetarband area under Ratabari Police Station in Karimganj and intercepted a vehicle carrying goods coming from Mizoram.

During checking the vehicle thoroughly, the team recovered as many as 121 soap cases containing heroin concealed in a secret chamber of the vehicle.

The seized heroin has been weighed 500 at kilograms.

The arrested duo have been identified as –Abdul Kalam and Saju Ahmed.

Investigation onto the matter is underway.
