Doors open for NPF to return to Joint Legislators Forum, says BJP

BJP, the partner of the ruling alliance in Nagaland has said that the opposition Naga People’s Front (NPF) is welcome to return to the Joint Legislators Forum (JLF) so that everybody can work together for an early and acceptable solution to the Naga political issue.

Talking to Northeast Live, BJP national spokesperson Mmhonlumo Kikon said that the issue must be taken forward together.

It may be mentioned that the NPF had withdrawn from the JLF on the Naga issue stating that the forum has failed to make any progress to resolve the stalemate.

Kikon also welcomed opposition leader TR Zeliang’s statements saying that the opposition NPF and the NDPP were on the same page; regarding the 7-point resolution adopted in October 15 consultative meet.

Further, Mhunlumo Kikon said that the call for “One solution-One Accord” has been the stand of the centre from the very beginning. He hopes that a solution will arrive at the earliest which will be meaningful. Kikon maintained that the negotiating parties are also working hard for it.
