Dibrugarh University students protests over fee hike

And earlier today, students gheraoed Vice Chancellor Jiten Hazarika and demanded that the fees hike be rolled back.

A major protest is taking place at the premises of the Dibrugarh University. The protest is being carried out by the students over the recent hike in fees.

The protesting students are demanding a rollback of the fees hike by the university authorities. The students under the banner of the university students’ union have been protesting since yesterday evening and are demanding the authorities come to meet them and formally assure them of canceling the fees hike.

And earlier today, students gheraoed Vice Chancellor Jiten Hazarika and demanded that the fees hike be rolled back.

The Vice-Chancellor and the students had some heated exchanges on the spot as they argued over the nature of the protest. Currently, the Vice Chancellor is holding a closed-door meeting with all the stakeholders of the Dibrugarh University community to reach an amicable solution to the problem.
