Dhubri police arrests 3 cyber criminals from Guwahati airport

The accused have been identified as Sandip Parik and Ibne Alam Khan, residents of Assam's Dhekiajuli, and Amarjit Modak, resident of Udalguri.
Close on the heels of the Guwahati Police busting a gang of cyber criminals who were duping not just national but international customers too, at least three notorious cyber criminals were arrested by Dhubri police from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati on Monday.
As per inputs, an individual identified as Shubham Prasad filed an FIR with Dhubri Police bearing case number 376/23 against the fraudsters.
The victim alleged that the trio had gained access of the bank account of the victim unlawfully and used his money to book flight tickets.
The accused have been identified as Sandip Parik and Ibne Alam Khan, residents of Assam’s Dhekiajuli, and Amarjit Modak, resident of Udalguri.
Based on complaints, police immediately launched an investigation and a search for the culprits began.
The search threw up details that the trio will be at Guwahati airport, and a team was dispatched to capture them. The police team was able to successfully detain the three accused. They were leaving for Patna.
Following the arrest, the police took the trio to Dhubri Sadar Police Station where they are being interrogated.
Earlier, on Friday, the Guwahati Police had busted a gang of cyber criminals operating from the heart of Guwahati. At least 191 fraudsters including 3 masterminds engaged in 8 fake call centres were taken into custody by the Guwahati Police in multiple raids carried out in different parts of the city since Friday night.
