An organization by the name of Arunachal Against Corruption has begun a seven day long peaceful sit-in protest in Itanagar. The civil society organization has accused Chief Minister Pema Khandu of being involved in multi crore scams in various departments.
The AAC has stated that CM Khandu is being involved in scams worth hundreds of crores in schemes such as the Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana and Deen Dayal Updahyay Gram Jyoti Yojana, scams in departments such as panchayat raj, power department, hydropower project and also the misuse of Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority.
Carrying on their sit-in protest at Itanagar’s IG Park till July 29, the AAC has demanded for the immediate resignation of CM Pema Khandu. The civil society organization has also sought for the immediate arrest of the officers involved in the various scams.
The organization has also called for the CBI to conduct a free and fair probe into the various multi crore scams in which they allege is a big nexus of politicians and government officers.
