The students of Delhi government schools will read about Padma Shri Award winner Assam’s well-known innovator Uddhab Bharali in their textbooks.
State Council of Educational Research and Training will include his achievements in the entrepreneurship mindset curriculum of classes IX to XII from the next academic calendar. Bharali was informed about the decision through a letter.
“We got to read about life and works of many great men in our textbooks. I am happy that my works will be included in such textbooks,” Bharali expressed his happiness.
Bharali, A grassroot innovator from Lakhimpur district is known for more than 140 innovations like paddy thresher, cane stripping machine, pomegranate de-seeder and low-cost incinerator.
Uddhab Bharali is a recipient of a number of national and international awards including Padma Shri, President’s National Grassroots Innovation Award in 2009 and winner of the NASA Tech Brief Create the Future Design contest – 2013.
