A delegation of the Mizoram Bru Displaced People’s Forum (MBDPF) has arrived in Tripura after camping in the national capital for more than a week to meet the central leaders.
Talking exclusively to Northeast Live, Mizoram Bru Displaced Forum President Daubunga Reang had said that they tried to meet Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss about the repatriation issue. However, the delegation failed to meet the home minister.
Reang added that there must be some modifications in the arrangement made by the Centre to resolve the crisis.
Bru protestors in North Tripura District who were staging an indefinite road blockade along the stretch between Kanchanpur and Anandabazar decided to call of their blockade after intervention from Tripura Deputy Chief minister Jishnu Debbarma.
The decision to withdraw the indefinite road blockade came after the State Government announced to resume supply of ration on humanitarian grounds.
