A crucial meet is currently underway in New Delhi between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM over the long going Naga peace talks.
Today’s round of talks take the negotiations to a critical phase as it is being touted as the last phase of the peace talks ahead of the final accord to be signed.
As per sources, the meeting began at 2:30 pm in the afternoon. A 15-member delegation of the NSCN-IM is attending the meet led by Thuingaleng Muivah and Ato Kilonser.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in Nagaland in view of the crucial meet. The state police, security agencies and various district administrations have been put on high alert.
Apart from the Assam Rifles, the army has also been deployed in all the districts of the state.
A lot of anticipation has been building up over the past few days to today’s talks. People across Nagaland held prayers and fasting services for a fruitful solution to the talks.
The NSCN-IM’s recent disagreement with the Centre over the issues of separate flag and constitution marred the peace talks to some extent. Everyone is looking at today’s peace talks with hope that a proper solution is achieved.
