Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma spoke on the issue of cross-voting in the recently concluded Presidential Polls 2022. CM Sarma said that two of the 126 MLAs in Assam had not cast their votes. Draupadi Murmu obtained 104 of the 124 votes, while Yashwant Sinha received 20. The Chief Minister added that there were 22 extra votes, of which 15 to 16 were from the Congress, as far as he knew.
