Assam’s COVID tally has shot further up with a total of 2,837 fresh cases. Of these, 870 cases have been reported from the Kamrup Metropolitan district.
The state has reported two COVID-related deaths in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the COVID positivity rate now stands at 5.69 percent.

On the other hand, Assam’s recovery rate currently stands at 97.34 percent.
Meanwhile, Mizoram today reported 880 fresh COVID-19 cases, pushing the state’s tally to 1 lakh, 48,438.
And the state’s coronavirus death toll rose to 564 as 2 more patients succumbed to the infection.
With this, the state now has 6,639 active cases, while 1 lakh, 41 thousand, 235 people have recovered from the disease so far, including 149 in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the single-day positivity rate stood at 20.36 per cent as the new cases were detected from 4,323 samples.
Of the new patients, 628 patients developed symptoms of COVID-19. Dr. Lalzawmi, the State Immunization Officer, on the other hand, reported that more than 7.57 lakh people have been vaccinated in the state so far.
The review meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura.
