As many as 1,486 fresh cases has been reported in the last 24 hours taking the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the country over 20,000.

The number of positive cases in India reached 20,471 on Wednesday, with Maharashtra continuing to be the worst-hit state.

On the other hand, 49 COVID-19 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours. With this the COVID-19 death toll in India has crossed the 650-mark.

The death toll in the country now stands at 652. Moreover, 3,959 people have been cured from the deadly virus.

The Union Cabinet has approved Rs 15,000 crore for ‘India COVID-19 Emergency Response and Health System Preparedness Package’. The funds sanctioned will be utilised in three phases.
