Taking to Twitter, Sarma wrote, “I am pleased to share that Assam has had the privilege to serve #Manipur with 3 MT Oxygen in view of shortage there. Our surplus resources are always available to help all in the North East region and elsewhere. Together we shall defeat #Covid19.”
Meanwhile, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh extended his gratitude towards the Assam government for helping the state during the period of crisis.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Shri @sarbanandsonwal Ji and @himantabiswa Da for allowing us to procure the much needed oxygen from their plants at Nagaon and Silchar. Your support at this juncture speaks volume about the cooperation amongst our States in NE Region,” Biren Singh tweeted.
Manipur on Monday reported 362 fresh COVID-19 cases, the highest single-day spike this year. The death toll in the state rose to 422 as seven more persons succumbed to the disease.
