With no fresh cases reported in the state, the Mizoram government has decided to permit intra-state movement allowing people from rural areas who are stranded in different parts of the state due to the lockdown to return to their villages.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the Aizawl City Local Council Association, All Mizoram Village Council Association and Mizoram NGO coordination Committee held under the leadership of chief secretary Lalnunmawia Chuango. The meeting was initiated by Chief Minister Zoramthanga.
However, the stranded people will have to take prior permission from local level task force or the village task force before moving to their destination.
The meeting also observed that all those who return will have to be put in quarantine again in the village.
