Continuing efforts to remove water, restore flow of Naga river: Manipur CM N Biren Singh

Assam Rifles, along with NDRF, Indian Army, and local authorities, have been distributing water bottles by boat to people trapped in buildings.
The Government of Manipur is relentlessly continuing its efforts to remove floodwater and clean waterlogged areas in Capital Imphal.
Manipur Fire Service teams have begun works to declog obstructions and restore the flow of the Naga River at North AOC in Imphal.
Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh wrote, “Continuing our efforts to remove floodwater and clean waterlogged areas, Manipur Fire Service teams have begun work to declog obstructions and restore the flow of the Naga River at North AOC Imphal.”

Meanwhile, the State Directorate of Education-School Manipur issued notification to keep all schools in the State shut till 4th June 2024.
It may be mentioned here that the Directorate in view of the widespread destruction due to Cyclone Remal and flood thereafter, had declared holiday for all the schools in the State on May 30 and 31.
On Sunday, Assam Rifles organised medical camps for the displaced flood victims in Manipur’s capital Imphal. They were provided with the necessary medicines to cope with the aftermath of the cyclone. Assam Rifles, along with NDRF, Indian Army, and local authorities, have been distributing water bottles by boat to people trapped in buildings.
They also assisted people stranded in heavily flooded areas, transporting them in boats to safer locations.
