The mortal remains of noted columnist, political analyst and author Colonel (Retd) Manoranjan Goswami were consigned to flames in Guwahati today.
Col. Goswami’s body was brought in from Mumbai at about 10 am today from where it was taken to his Lalganesh residence in the city where people paid their last respects.
The last rites were performed at the city’s Bhootnath crematorium later in the afternoon.
Thousands of people, including many prominent political leaders, senior journalists and editors along with relatives of the Goswami family, offered their last tributes to the departed soul after the mortal remains were taken to their Lal Ganesh residence.
Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Assam Finance, Health and PWD Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, AASU adviser Samujjal Kumar Bhattacharyaa along with several other eminent personalities paid their tributes to the departed soul and offered condolences to the bereaved family members.
The review meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura.
