Latasil Police registered a suo moto complaint under sections 120(B), 121, 123 and 124(A) of the IPC against Gohain, Akhil Gogoi and Manjit Mahanta after they were accused of supporting independence for Assam during their respective speeches made during a demonstration against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill earlier in the week.
