As the relationship between India and China remain at tenterhooks the Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu is frequently visiting the border areas and meeting the Indian army standing as sentinels.
He visited the strategic guarding posts of Yankee-1 and Yangtse on Sunday during his three-day visit to the LAC.
Both these locations became the centre of attention when the Chinese and the Indian army had another faceoiff.
He appreciated and acknowledged the sacrifices and deep sense of duty of the soldiers, who have been vigilant on the enemies renouncing all comforts in the icy heights posted on his social media platforms writing, “We are safe at our homes because our jawans are keeping strict vigil at the borders foiling nefarious attempts of the enemy.”
“Visited the Yangste post at 1500 ft near India-Tibet China border to meet our Indian soldiers. The determination and courage of our jawans are praiseworthy who are putting up a brave front in guarding the icy heights of the border,” he tweeted.
“We are safe at our homes because our jawans are keeping strict vigil at the borders foiling any nefarious attempts by the enemy. It’s a pride feeling to be with our soldiers, to meet and interact with them. Visited the Yankee-1 border post near India-Tibet China border,” he added in another tweet.
It is to be mentioned that Tawang is the home district of the Arunchal Chief Minister and his family. Belonging to the Monpa community Pema Khandu has been vociferous against the Chinese claims over Tawang and Arunachal Pradesh.
