Charred Body of Unidentified Man Found ; Two Women Dead in Separate Incidents Across Manipur In Last 48 Hours

The charred body of an unidentified man was found early Saturday morning inside a haystack at Eroipat Loukol, near Thambalnu Market in the Yairipok area of Imphal East. Police were notified around 7:30 a.m. on November 9, and a case has been registered as they begin an investigation into the incident.

An Andro Police team conducted an initial inquest on-site and described the deceased as a slim-built male, approximately 154 cm tall, wearing blue jeans. Due to the severe burns, authorities have been unable to establish the identity of the man. The body has since been moved to the JNIMS Morgue, where officials are awaiting further information to aid in the identification process.

Meanwhile, two women lost their lives in unrelated incidents in different parts of Manipur over the past 48 hours. On Thursday, one woman was reportedly killed following an alleged attack in Jiribam District. In another incident, a woman in Bishnupur district sustained a fatal gunshot wound while working in a paddy field, today. The bullet was reportedly fired from the direction of Churachandpur hills.
