The authorities resorted to development of massive infrastructure in the sports sector in a bid to draw the youths away from indulging in life-destroying practices.
At a time when Arunachal Pradesh has become a hub for drugs, narcotics, and other psychotropic substances destroying lives of young people including students, the Changlang district authorities and Miao sub divisional administration came up with a unique concept to tackle the issues.
The authorities resorted to development of massive infrastructure in the sports sector in a bid to draw the youths away from drugs.
As envisioned, ultramodern sports facilities have been built in Miao so that students and youths get a platform and have access to state of the art facilities to hone their sporting skills as well as to keep them physical and mental state fit.
A modern basketball court cum volleyball and tennis court has been constructed along with a skating ring. Separate facilities have been created for sports like Futsal and cricket apart from a gym.
With all the development focused on youth empowerment, the tide seems to be turning against drugs menace in Miao as youths and students are making use of the facilities and saying no to drugs.
