Chairman of a regional committee in Meghalaya has claimed that several villages not included in the list of settlement between Assam and Meghalaya have expressed their willingness to be a part of Meghalaya.
Chairman of Regional Committee on Boundary Dispute for West Khasi Hills, Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar the regional committees constituted by the two state governments meant to settle those areas of difference basing on agreement reached at back in 2011. Tongkhar added that unfortunately there are many villages which are not included in the list that have come up and expressed that they want to be part of Meghalaya.
Tongkhar added that the regional committee has been created not to create more dispute or more differences but to settle those areas of difference which have been identified by both the states.
