To strengthen connectivity and accelerate economic growth, the Ministry of Rural Development has sanctioned Rs. 378.68 crore for the construction of 78 roads measuring 563.67 km and 14 bridges in Assam.
The projects under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana -III will have a transformative impact on the region, contributing to the growth and prosperity of the North-Eastern region and cementing the government’s commitment to inclusive development.
This landmark initiative will improve access to essential services like healthcare, education, and markets and enhance connectivity in rural areas, bridging the gap between remote villages and urban centres.
Besides creating employment and boosting local economies, this will promote trade and commerce in the state and support the government’s objective of a developed India and a prosperous Northeast (Viksit Bharat).
Taking to X, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the initiative and wrote, “₹378.68 cr of investment under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana We are extremely grateful to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi
