Central Water Commission issues flood warning in Sivasagar

According to a press note released by the Central Water Commission New Delhi, due to heavy rainfall in upper catchment reaches and associated high flow in Dikhow river, Sivasagar observed
According to a press note released by the Central Water Commission New Delhi, due to heavy rainfall in upper catchment reaches and associated high flow in Dikhow river, Sivasagar observed a water level of 93.97 m at 3PM today which again rose to an unprecedented 94m at 4 PM.
A flood alert had been issued by Central Flood control Room of Central Water commission, New Delhi two days back and the situation today has turned even more worrisome.
It is to be mentioned here that the Highest Flood Level ever recorded in Sivasagar was 94.19m, way back on 25th June 1998, the Bibhow river is expected to rise further and even possibly cross the Highest Flood level marginally.
