The CBI carried out raids at the residences of former Manipur chief minister and senior Congress leader Okram Ibobi Singh.

The raids started at 7.30 on Friday morning from his quarter at Babupara in Imphal West, while a second team of the CBI raided the Thoubal Athokpam Makha Leikai residence of the former chief minister who is currently the MLA of Thoubal constituency.

The raids were carried out in connection with the alleged Rs 185 crore Manipur Development Society scam, Singh was the chairman of the Manipur Development Society.

Apart from this, the residence of Congress leader and former chief secretary O Nabakishore is also being raided. As per reports, the CBI is also carrying out raids at other locations in Aizawl and Gurugram in connection with the multi-crore scam.

Ibobi Singh, who was earlier booked in connection with the scam is currently in Delhi with a state Congress delegation.
