CAP picks party Chief Coordinator Ganesh Kumar Rai as party’s CM face

The Citizen Action Party (CAP) of Sikkim today named party’s Chief Coordinator Ganesh Kumar Rai as the Chief Minister face for the upcoming Assembly polls. This was announced during the celebration of the party’s 2nd foundation day and 1st anniversary at the party headquarters in Gangtok.
Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, CAP Spokesperson Albert Gurung said that the party would be contesting in all the 32 assembly seats in the upcoming election and one Lok Shaba seat without entering into a coalition with any other political party.
The party was launched by former SDF leader and chief of Reform Call, Ganesh Kumar Rai, on the occasion of Republic Day in 2023 with an aim is to bring about reforms in the political arena of the state.
The party is led by President Laxmi Prasad Kafley.
In addition to contesting the upcoming elections from all 32 seats, the party also hopes to form the government in the state.
Ganesh Kumar Rai was the Vice President of SDF and his wife, Tulsi Devi Rai was an MLA from 2009-2014 and from 2014-19 she was also the minister for social welfare and PHE.
