Continuing their Anti-Smuggling Operations against trans-border smugglers, troops of Tripura Frontier, Border Security Force have foiled a trans-border currency smuggling attempt along the Indo-Bangladesh International Border in Tripura and recovered 9 lakh 97 thousand Taka.
Acting on specific intelligence input regarding the smuggling of the huge amounts of Bangladeshi Currency, BSF troops of Border outpost NC Nagar, Gokulnagar foiled a “New Modus Operandi” of trans-border smugglers.

The team successfully recovered Bangladeshi currency amounting to 9 lakh 97 thousand Taka, which were clandestinely hidden inside a Bicycle Tyre.
Taking to Twitter Tripura Frontier, Border Security Forcewrote,”#BSF Troops in relentless Anti-Smuggling #Operations, foiling New Modus Operandi of Smugglers on International #Border in #Tripura. Today, on specific input, troops of 133BnBSF recovered 9.97 Lacs #Bangladeshi Taka covertly hidden in Bicycle Tyre.”
It may be mentioned that two individuals were apprehended earlier on Friday by the BSF and the Assam Police for smuggling fake Indian currency worth Rs 3.03 lakh into India from Bangladesh.
