BSF Apprehends Nine, Including Four Bangladeshi Nationals, Along Tripura Border

At around 4:30 PM, a BSF patrolling team, acting on specific intelligence, intercepted four people near Dhaniabari.

In a swift operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended nine individuals, including four Bangladeshi nationals, for illegally crossing the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura. The arrests were made in two separate incidents on March 2.

At around 4:30 PM, a BSF patrolling team, acting on specific intelligence, intercepted four people near Dhaniabari. Upon questioning, two of them Bimal Chakma and Sushil Chakma identified themselves as Bangladeshi nationals from Khagrachari, while the other two Daduni Chakma and Nandini Chakma were found to be Indian residents of Nutan Bazar, South Tripura.

Later, another BSF patrol spotted unusual movement near Border Outpost (BOP) Dyke VIII and apprehended five individuals crossing the international border. Among them, Mongkrajai Marma and Brisha Moni Chakma were confirmed as Bangladeshi nationals from Khagrachari, while the remaining three Punna Lal Chakma, Twoingnu Mog, and Skiro Chakma were Indian residents of Gandachera, Dhalai district.

BSF officials stated that further interrogation is in progress to determine the purpose of their illegal entry. The force reiterated its commitment to preventing unauthorised crossings and ensuring border security.
