#BREAKING | Assam’s COVID-19 tally reaches 135

On Tuesday morning, the overall tally of COVID-19 cases in Assam surged to 135, after 20 new positive cases surfaced in in a span of an hour.

14 new cases have been confirmed, of which, 7 are from Kamrup, 2 from Hojai, 2 from Biswanath, 1 from Nagaon and 2 from Nalbari.

Taking to Twitter Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “14 new #COVID + cases confirmed. 7 are from Kamrup , 2 from Hojai, 2 from Biswanath, 1 from Nagaon,2 from Nalbari. Total cases now touch 135.”

“Please #StayAtHome as much as possible and follow all instructions,” Sarma added.

Earlier, 6 more persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the state.

Among the confirmed cases, two each from Jorhat and Golaghat, while one each from Kokrajhar and Nagaon have tested positive for the virus. One patient in Jorhat had returned from Chennai, while another patient returned from Darjeeling.

The total number of active COVID-19 cases in the state now stands at 88.
