The move to resolve the inter-state boundary dispute between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh has been welcomed by one and all.
After inking a deal with Meghalaya, Assam has turned to Arunachal to resolve the differences along the border between the two states.
With Chief Ministers of both states meeting yesterday for official talks, both sides decided to initiate the process of forming as many as 12 regional committees to resolve the dispute in as many as 123 villages.
Not only this, like in the case of Assam and Meghalaya, it was decided that Assam and Arunachal will resolve the differences based on historical perspective, administrative convenience, contiguity, and people’s will.
Meanwhile, this move has been welcomed by one and all. Tezu MLA Karikho Kri welcomed the move by both sides and said that this will go a long way in resolving the differences and bring amity among the people of both states.
Talking to our colleague Ripunjoy Das, the Tezu MLA said that the involvement of the Centre and the importance that is being given to the Northeastern states is the reason behind such initiatives being taken to resolve such long pending issues.
