Body of an ULFA-I Cadre has been recovered from the Dihing River, 5 kilometres away from Jagun where a massive encounter between the Army and the ULFA-I rebels took place two days back.
It is being suspected that the body is one of the two cadres who were injured in the encounter. However, the identity of dead cadre is yet to be ascertained.
The Army had launched a massive combing operation in Jagun and nearby areas on Tuesday following an encounter that broke out in the evening earlier day, wherein two ULFA-I cadres sustained serious injuries.
Meanwhile, there have been reports doing the rounds that a 22-member team of hardcore ULFA-I cadres led by Rupom Asom, Jaan Asom and Uday Asom have entered Assam from Myanmar recently and are planning to carry out subversive activities in the State.
