The mortal remains of Satpal Rai, the PSO of CDS late General Bipin Rawat, who was among the 13 casualties of the Coonoor chopper crash finally reached his village in Darjeeling’s Takdah Tea estate.
People lined up to pay their respects to Havaldar Satpal Rai as his mortal remains reached his village last night. His last rites will be held today at his native place Takdah of Darjeeling.

The body of Havaldar Rai was taken to the Bengdubi Military base after arrival at the Baghdogra airport yesterday. Last tributes were paid to him by the Indian Army, and the government and administration.
The identification of the remaining 10 bodies of soldiers had been completed on Saturday, following which the last rites of at least six soldiers were performed in their respective hometowns. These include Wing Commander Prithvi Singh Chauhan, Squadron Leader Kuldeep Singh, Junior Warrant Officer Rana Pratap Das, Junior Warrant Officer Arakkal Pradeep, Lance Naik Vivek Kumar and Lance Naik B Sai Teja.
