Sensation prevailed again along the Assam-Mizoram inter-state border after a bomb exploded on the Assam side of the border in Hailakandi district on Saturday.
As per police, the incident took place at Fakuwapunji Primary School premises under the Ramnathpur police station after unknown miscreants hurled a bomb there before dawn today.
The matter came to light after local residents traced the sound of the blast to the school. The population of the area is mainly Reangs and Muslims. The school is reportedly near the Gutguti border outpost near the Mizoram border.
Meanwhile, police in Assam are blaming miscreants from the Mizoram side behind the incident. A team of the Assam Police have been rushed to the spot.
It is to be noted that this is the fifth bomb explosion reported along the inter-state border in the last 4 years.
