Blast in Imphal West’s Thangmeiband area, one labour injured

A bomb suspected to be an IED blasted on Sunday evening. One labourer was injured in the blast

According to police, the blast went off at around 6:40 pm in the basement of an under-construction building located at Thangmeiband Muji Leirak in Manipur. The injured labourer was engaged in the construction of the particular building. The labourer sustained splinters injuries on his leg and has been immediately shifted to a nearby hospital. The injured person has been identified as Vikash Kumar (34) of Begusarai district, Bihar. A police team from Imphal West Police arrived at the blast site. The police were later joined by a team of Forensic experts. A preliminary investigation is going on.
