BJP’s victory in Assembly and LS polls in Arunachal reflects people’s immense trust and support for BJP: Chowna Mein

It is yet to be decided when the Pema Khandu Cabinet will take the oath of office and whether Chowna Mein will be reappointed as Deputy Chief Minister.

Chowna Mein congratulated Chief Minister-elect Pema Khandu on the Bharatiya Janta Party’s (BJP) massive victory in both Lok Sabha Elections and Assembly Elections and said that the triumph is an extraordinary accomplishment for the state.

He said this victory reflects the immense trust and support of the people in the BJP government in the state.

Chowna Mein said that Arunachal Pradesh is well-positioned for future growth and development with such a clear mandate.

With such a decisive mandate, Arunachal Pradesh is well-positioned for continued progress and development,” Chowna Mein posted on X.

Pema Khandu-led BJP has registered a landslide victory by winning 46 out of 60 seats in the Assembly elections and both Lok Sabha seats-East Arunachal Pradesh and West Arunachal Pradesh.

Sitting MP of the Arunachal East seat, Tapir Gao retained his seat defeating his closest rival, Bosiram Siram of the Indian National Congress (INC), by a margin of 30,421 votes, garnering a total of 145,581 votes.

Sitting MP of Arunachal West seat, Union Earth Sciences Minister Kiren Rijiju retained his seat defeating former Arunachal Chief Minister and State Congress President Nabam Tuki with a huge margin of 88098 votes garnering a total of 180189 votes.

Chowna Mein served as the Deputy Chief Minister in the Pema Khandu-led Cabinet in Arunachal Pradesh.

Following the party’s victory in the recent elections, Pema Khandu has been unanimously selected for his third term as Chief Minister.

However, it is yet to be decided when the Pema Khandu Cabinet will take the oath of office and whether Chowna Mein will be reappointed as Deputy Chief Minister.

The state’s political landscape awaits further announcements regarding the composition of the new Cabinet.
