It is a landslide victory for the BJP in the Assam Municipal Elections. Out of the 80 Municipal Boards, the Saffron party has sealed victory in 74 Municipal Boards.

Meanwhile, BJP’s ally AGP won 2 Municipal Boards of Barpeta and Bokakhat. Elaborating on the numbers, the BJP has won 742 wards out of the total 977 wards.
The Congress has won 71 wards while the AGP has won 65 wards. What can be termed as a significant trend, Independent candidates have won 99 seats.
