BJP Announces Bernard Marak as Candidate For Gambegre Seat in Meghalaya

The voting for Meghalaya bypolls will be held on November 13 and counting of votes will take place on November 23.

Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday announced the candidate for Meghalaya’s Gambegre Assembly constituency for the upcoming bye-elections on November 13.

The by-poll in Meghalaya will be held for the Gambegre Assembly constituency. This assembly seat fell vacant after MLA from this constituency was elected to the Lok Sabha.

The BJP has fielded Tura MDC and state Vice President Bernard Marak for the Gambegre seat in Meghalaya. The Congress has earlier announced to field Jingjang M Marak from the seat.

The voting for Meghalaya bypolls will be held on November 13 and counting of votes will take place on November 23.

It needs to be mentioned that, NPP has fielded Chief Minister Conrad Sangma’s wife Mehtab Chandee in Gambegre, while former MLA Zenith Sangma’s wife Sadhiarani Sangma is the AITC candidate.

The last date of filing of nominations will be on October 25, scrutiny of nomination papers on October 28 and the last date of withdrawal of nominations will be on October 30, he added.
