Several rounds of gunshots were allegedly fired into Kamala Harris’ election campaign office in Arizona, police confirmed on Wednesday. Unidentified individuals fired the shots around midnight, striking the Democratic National Committee (DNC) office near Southern Avenue and Priest Drive in Tempe, according to the Tempe Police Department.

Damages from the gunshots were found by authorities, but fortunately, no one was inside the office at the time. “No one was inside the office during the overnight hours, but this raises concerns about the safety of those who work in that building, as well as those nearby,” said Public Information Officer Sgt. Ryan Cook.

Authorities quickly arrived on the scene to analyse the evidence, and security was immediately increased for the employees and others in the vicinity.

The incident has alarmed staff workers at the DNC office, who suspect that the gunshots were likely fired through the front windows, further heightening concerns over political violence as the US presidential election approaches.

Donald Trump Assassination Attempts

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, Republican candidate Donald Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt at Trump National Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. A 58-year-old man from Hawaii, Ryan Routh, was arrested after being found armed within the compound.

Days earlier, Trump survived another assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania. The accused, Thomas Matthew Crooks, opened fire, injuring Trump and two others before being fatally shot by a sniper.

Both incidents have intensified security measures as the US election draws near.
