Benjamin Yepthomi has been officially appointed as the new state president of Nagaland by party national president Jagat Prakash Nadda with immediate effect today.
Benjamin Yepthomi assumed the role of state BJP president, after Temjen Imna Along’s tenure got over today.
Temjen Imna Along who is also the Minister for Higher and Technical Education and Tribal affairs in the Nagaland government, led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has served as the state BJP president for 2 consecutive years.
Benjamin Yepthomi (the son of Late. Khehokhu Yepthomi (Founder of Thahekhu Village & Khehokhu Village) from Dimapur, is the former state vice-president of BJP and president of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) President.
Yepthomi has been a dedicated member of the party, contributing to make it win the 2018 and 2023 state assembly elections. He was the in-charge of the grand rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Dimapur during the 2023 assembly elections.
Congratulating Yepthomi, Minister Along wrote on X, “Heartiest congratulations to Shri @YepthomiBen on his appointment as the new President of @BJP4Nagaland. Your vision and commitment will definitely take BJP Nagaland to greater heights. My best wishes for a successful tenure ahead.”
