Eight persons have been detained in Assam’s Barpeta district for suspected terror activities. Earlier today, ruckus broke out between two groups in Jatigaon after the conclusion of the morning Namaz today on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitre. Reportedly, the eight persons in question were engaged in a meeting after prayers. People got suspicious about their activities and when confronted a scuffle followed between both the groups. The police soon reached the spot and detained the eight persons after locals alleged that they were engaged in terror activities. Locals alleged that they are involved with some terror outfit and are propagating Jihadi activities among the locals. The incident has caused sensation in the area.
