Barpeta-Amingaon Bypass to be a Reality Soon, Centre Approves 75-km Road Alignment

The ambitious project is anticipated to play a key role in reducing travel time, enhancing regional development.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved the alignment for a 75-kilometer highway connecting Barpeta Bypass to Amingaon. The new route, which will pass through Amingaon, Dadara, Singimari, Hajo, Mukalmua, Rampur, Barpeta, and Howly along NH 427, is set to significantly improve connectivity for thousands of commuters in the region.

Taking to X, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his gratitude to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for expediting the project.

“This will be an important highway link, which will significantly boost connectivity for lakhs of people traveling from Barpeta to Guwahati and beyond,” CM Sarma wrote on x.

The ambitious project is anticipated to play a key role in reducing travel time, enhancing regional development, and easing transportation challenges for residents and businesses along the route.
