Bangladeshi infiltrator held by Assam Police, pushed back: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

A Bangladeshi was apprehended and pushed back by the Assam Police for trying to enter India from Bangladesh, and was pushed back, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Friday.

Taking to X, CM Sarma wrote, “Maintaining alert along the border, 1 illegal Bangladeshi national was apprehended today near the international border and pushed back Tushar Imran.”
“We are committed to a secure border!,”CM added.
Earlier last month, the Assam Police successfully apprehended five Bangladeshi nationals and deported them back across the border.
The individuals were identified as Hansi Akhtar, Sraboni, Shohagi Khan, Sumi Khan and Nila Akhtar.
Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining border security and ensuring strict action against unlawful crossings.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the police force for their proactive measures in combating illegal immigration. Taking to X, he praised the team for their dedication and unwavering efforts to safeguard Assam’s territorial integrity.
